When you’re in the backcountry, the rules of first aid change. Our Wilderness First Aid (WFA) courses are designed specifically for hikers, paddlers, and outdoor leaders who need to manage medical emergencies in remote environments where 911 isn't an immediate option.
What You Will Learn:
Patient Assessment: How to perform a thorough exam in a wilderness setting.
Extended Care: Managing wounds, fractures, and illnesses over several hours or days.
Environmental Hazards: Treating heatstroke, hypothermia, frostbite, and bites/stings.
Improvised Litters: How to safely move and evacuate an injured person using gear you have on hand.
Why WFA? Traditional first aid assumes an ambulance is 10 minutes away. Wilderness First Aid gives you the confidence to lead, stay calm, and save lives when you are miles from the nearest road.
Safety on the water is our top priority. We offer Lifesaving Society certifications to help paddlers and prospective lifeguards develop the situational awareness and rescue skills required for aquatic environments.
Bronze Medallion
The flagship certification for lifesavers. You will learn the four components of water rescue: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness.
